The number one question I am getting right now is the fish biting. Speaking for sand bass and hybrids, I can say without a doubt the fish are biting. There might be a little bird activity some mornings but if there are no birds feeding to show us the way to the fish, the traditional points and humps seem to be holding fish in water depths of maybe 17 feet to 22 feet.

Still catching them with a slab but in just a few days we will be seeing Rattle Trap fish. Although I usually throw a sassy shad at these schooling fish the old Rattle Trap can be a killer Diller. I prefer colors of green and silver black and silver or plain White. On the sassy shad for colors I usually go with bright chartreuse.

Thank goodness spring has sprung!
