I plan to do some serious crappie fishing over the next 2+ months while they are shallow. Looking for people to join in the hunt. Probably going to focus on Ray Hubbard, Lavon and Fork. Maybe Joe Pool and Tawakoni as well.

Who's interested?

I'll go for Fork. Never fished Lavon so don't know much about it. Ray Hubbard is not a good lake for me. I want to eat those crappie and Rowlett creek gets too much sewage from Plano.

Ever try Ray Roberts? It's very good and Buck Creek offers some wind protection which is nice this time of year.

Actually I grew up fishing on Ray Roberts. But usually when the crappie were spawning we were targeting spawning LMB. So I'm not all that familiar with where to catch spawning crappie there.

All the places we crappie fished growing up are places that are mostly inaccessible by kayak just due to distance. I'm not paddling 5 miles lol

There are so many in Ray Roberts I don't see how you can miss them. With a kayak, I'd think you could park alongside any of the bridges and drank your gear down to the water.

I'm a little busy moving until the end of the month but hope to get the yak out first or second week of april. They should be in full spawn mode.
