Went out caught a few then it just kept blowing harder and harder.i checked my phone and said whoa we better go in. Many many times I've been in crazy wind and waves but these were brutal and wicked. For the first time in 23 years of guiding and a lifetime on the water I was nervous. True 4-5 rollers and gusts that were insane. There was no way to ease through it...spearing waves and ocean style boat slamming as the waves would drop us. To try and take em at an angles was pure walls of water. We got SOAKED coming back in and it was some serious stuff! Mother Nature doesn't play and today she was in a bad bad mood. Ripped Tm wires out and threw stuff everywhere.Saw a couple small crafts out hope they are okay for real it was BAD.

Been there. Usually only on texoma. Got out there in 4-6' rollers out by buncombe creek once. Ended up just having to hide behind the center console and just punch it, as long as you hit em straight on you'll survive it's those crossways waves that scare me.

That's some bad stuff. I got in some four footers on Twok and it was not pleasant. There was a little 17' bass boat trying to make it in and he was not doing real well. I hung around until he got to the ramp and watched him, and he pulled up and both bilge pumps were pumping water out for a long while.

About 50 yrs. ago my mother and dad were out in a 14' Lone Star with a 7 1/2. They got caught in a storm out of Big Mineral. They made it to the Oklahoma side pulled the boat out of the water and turned it over so they could get under it. It was the next day before they could get back across the lake. The guy at the marina told Daddy they had been looking for some people. Daddy asked why he wasn't looking for them. The guy told him that he wasn't worried about him, he was worried about the people out of Dallas. My Dad never got on that lake again if the wind was blowing.

Brutal day to be on a lake for sure. First thought was wonder if Chris is out, glad you came in.
I remember one stormy day you said:
"we can stay here, catch more fish and die, or head in and fish again another day"
We just made it to the dock when the deluge let loose.

Chris, I hear ya. We ran into the same thing today. 15 - 25 mph winds. Hard to fish in that kind of wind for sure.
