Trout Derby this weekend on the Blue River in Oklahoma; not able to make it but Mckinney is hosting a derby. That will do a Saturday outing! Post.

Made it out to this morning; limited out fly fishing. Will post a video later of Sunday's acion; here is the video of Saturday's action. PS: Game Warden was out checking licenses this morning.

Working the day job, not even fishing quick trips. May even miss out on fishing this weekend. Bummer too... several trout derbies are planned this Saturday!

Fished Murphy's City Complex pond after a trout derby Saturday. Limited out with five and caught and released a lot more! Guadalupana in size 12 and 14 was the go to fishing fly Saturday!

Had a great time yesterday fishing Murphy City Complex Pond for trout. Went back again with the same setup... Redington Pursuit 4wt-8' fly rod and Ross Flystart Model 2. Used a size 14 Guadalupana to take a limit today! Fun stuff!

Quick trip to Murphy... no trout but did get a Sunfish! Picture.

Made it to Waterloo this morning; limited out on trout. Used varying retrieves after finding the pattern. Posted a longer video this round to show the retrieves! Video.

After TRWD Flyfest, will be shifting to warm water fishing. Was a great season, and looking forward to the warm water fishing fun! And as Bass come to mind, here is a weight estimator to keep handy! LMB Weight Estimator.

Made the run across the border to the Lower Illinois River in OK to extend the Trout season just a little longer. One of us limited out on trout; the other did not. Still working the video. For now, here is... Today's Catch! Only two were caught with fishing flies.. one went for a Guadaulpana and the other went for a variant - Near Guad (Guadalupana tied on a Near Deere jig fly hook).

Similar to Beavers Bend, the Lower Illinois is stocked year round! Good to now when the itch to go trout fishing needs to be "scratched"!
