***All welcome to post anything related to Medina Lake here!***

Took my boys to the lake today, fought hard to find some bass in the normal spots. We couldn't even see fish on the graph. Did a scouting trip up elm creek. Nope. But does look very good. Went to a new area and found a brush pile in 25' and caught 7 crappie. Biggest 1.2lb just enough to cook some fish next weekend. One female the rest were males and very dark for white crappie. Small sack of small sized eggs. We'll hit it next weekend harder. I sure enjoy eating crappie and kids like to catch fish. Most caught on something blue plastic crappie jig. Blue&white, blue and gold, bluegrass, etc. Caught one on hand tie marabou elect chicken.

We also seen one of the sharks so didn't use a stringer. You can google it. Still info on the Sharks caught out there on jug lines. roflmao

Good looking crappie!

I had a tough time Sunday as well. I hit all of my normal spots without much success, about 6-7 LMBs with one, maybe two keepers. I covered most of the lake and tried several different approaches.

Based on the results, the people fishing in that tournament were clearly fishing some other lake.

Haha, I hear ya. I seen the 3pm weigh in on Saturday at county park,I didn't know there was a tournament. Not sure the sizes but looked like pretty good turn in. Kids didn't want to snoop and talk to them. I'll say this,Saturday had more common folk boats than the show on Sunday. Expensive boats intimidate me. frkazoid

Did you launch from Joe's about 7am on Sunday?

A few guys had a great day out there Sunday, I got crushed lol. Had a bunch of bass but only 2 keepers.

Last Monday it was on fire and I caught a limit by myself, but that lake put me to shame Sunday lol

Medina Lake Bass Club: Big stringer Saturday was 13 and change with a 5.05 big fish. 2 - stringers around 9 pounds rounded out the top 3.

Happens to all of us Wes, that's why we keep looking forward to the next event

Catfish-hunter - Nice crappie your sons caught !!!

Joe posted the Medina Lake Bass Club results from Saturday they weighed in at the County Park, good job everyone!

Sunday the bi-weekly Open Medina Lake Bassmasters was held out of Joe's, here are their results, good job everyone!

"We had 18 teams. 1st place was 17.3. 2nd place was 13.5. 3rd place was 9.15. Big bass was 6.9."

Its going to be a great spring and summer on this lake.

This lake is really fixing to heat up and the big fish that live here are fixing to show them selves, please during this time, actually anytime but especially this time, let's take care of the big girls that are doing there thing, during the tournaments, let's get those fish back to the water as soon as possible, if you are just out fun fishing and you catch one for a photo, please release it quickly so it is minimal stress on the fish. It will be up to us to protect this lake and all that it offers. Can't wait until the tournament Sunday March 19th. I am willing to bet we see our first 20 pound bag of the season from this lake.

Thank you Don, I couldn't agree more. Now that our lake is holding some water lets take care of her for all to enjoy. Here's hoping you snag that first 20 lbs on the 19th, I'll be at Falcon. Hope to see you at the Bassmasters Classic in Houston.

Nice posting clap keep it up!

I'd love to hear more about the tournaments that take place out there weigh ins and winners etc. Surely others on here do also.

Also average Joe fishermen after whites, catfish, bluegill and crappie. Hard to find any info from anyone that fishes this lake.

Welcome !! The lack of up to date fishing reports had a lot to do with the lake being down 94 foot for several years, unless you had a kayak. She's recovering now, we need to do our part and practice CPR if possible.
