a question for the carp guys

so i haven't fished for carp in years but i have been catching a lot the lat couple years bass fishing and i always faul hook them by the tail fin so im wondering if its normal for carp to slap bait fish by there tail or am i just that good at runing into carp it never happens with other fish so im really wondering now

If you're casting into a school of carp that are feeding in shallow water, I can see this happening. You're most likely hooking them by accident.

If you're casting into a school of carp that are feeding in shallow water, I can see this happening. You're most likely hooking them by accidet. I was thinking the same thing the carp will tail just like redfish so it sounds like your just dragging into them unintentionally to my knowledge they don't herd baitfish or things of the sort but I have heard of people catching them on shad dead and alive
