Im with my grandparents for the week and we plan on hitting the lake a time or two with the kayaks. How can we catch some fish out there?

Punch the trash mats with speed craws. Chartreuse grubs on a jig head will catch 'em too.

it has been a month since i dropped the boat in white rock and a couple of weeks since my son and i walked the WRC north of northwest hwy / lawther road. my last time out if fished the west side of the lake, south of the main ramp for a few hours, slow rolled a spinnerbait close to shoreline cover and flipped it between reeds. i boated around eight in a few hours largest went about 4#'s. water temps were in mid fifities. the recent rain could have dirtied the water a bit, but they should be close to spawning. if the water is not too stained look at ends and openings of the reeds near the shoreline rocks for beds, paddle up dixons branch past the lawther and even the buckner bridge in search of beds. there are areas that transition from gray shale to gravel, beds will be nearby.
when my son and i walked the creek we caught over 12, but there was not one over 14 inches. the creek was clear to partially stained, which effects the bite. all bites were on a tx rigged zoom paddle tail worm.
contray to Srichey there is no trash to punch thru on the lake, if you go far enough up the creek you might find a log jam that will hold floating debris.
