Went on scouting run to the north today for 1st time in about 3 weeks. Fishing up north has been poor. But today I found and caught fish at Merimac Point, Spillway Hump and the Rock Pile. Also marked and caught fish at Pole Dance Point, Long Ridge, and Saint Annes Drop-off. Whites ranged from 10 inches to 16 inches and caught 2 short hybrids. Fish were in 12 to 20 fow. Water temp was 62 degrees.

Thanks for the report Dennis. Are those names I could find on a fishing map or just names you've given your honey holes? I'm headed to Cedar Creek in a couple of weeks and have never fished it before. We'll be staying on the south end of the lake at one of the RV parks down that way and I'm hoping to make a cheat sheet before I go so the kids won't be disappointed.

Dennis willingness to share is legendary. We should all follow his example. He tells me of his days as a working stiff and not being able to devote the time to learn a lake. He wants to help others now that he can, and it very much appreciated!

Went out today from 9:30 am to 1:20pm and caught fish at Saint Annes East, Swingset Hump, Dam Drop-off and Dam Ridge. Most fish were in 13 to 18 fow. Water temperature was 60 degrees. All caught on #4 Mepps. Total count was 62: 50 whites, 2 lmb's, a buffalo, a hybrid and 8 yellow bass. Both lmb's and the hybrid were 18 1/2 in long.

Jerry, call me when you are back in town.

I went out today from 9AM to 11:20AM to check out a few more spots: Pole Dance Point, Long Ridge, Mid-lake Hump, Key Ranch Drop-off, 3-Jug Hump, Merimac Point, Iron Wall Hump, Slide Hump and Spillway Hump. Only found fish at 3-Jug Hump and Spillway Hump, but caught fish almost every cast at those spots. Quit to get back for an appointment. Ended up with 37: 33 whites, a crappie, a cat, a yellow bass and a short hybrid. All caught on #4 silver Mepps Aglia. Fish were in 20 to 21 fow at 3-Jug and in 17 fow on south edge of Spillway Hump.

Water temp still 60 degrees. Pic below shows what the fish looked like on sonar at 3-Jug Hump - tiny bumps hugging the bottom connected meaning they were stacked in there side by side. This is what I'm looking for at present. Sometimes the bumps are not connected but spread out along the bottom close to one another. This is also what I'm looking for. I can set up right over these and fish straight down or position the boat a short casting distance away and throw to them. Works either way.

White bass stacked sideways hugging the bottom:

Should have added that I'm familiar with 3-Jug Hump and, when no fish are present, the bottom is smooth as a baby's bottom. Thus, I know these are fish and not brush or irregular bottom.

Dennis,

Are you catching any spawned out females in the main lake yet?

I recognize females by the bulging bellies, and I am still catching them in main lake. What would a "spawned out" female look like, since I presume she would have laid all her eggs, and I do all catch and release and don't see their innards?
