Ok guys, I’ve been at it for the last week. Here’s what I have gathered. The south end of the lake, in my opinion, is no good. It’s all about the north end, protected coves and bays with flooded bushes and scattered wood. I was preparing for a trip I have tomorrow and I found 4 areas that are all alike and perfect for what I’ve been looking for. Water clarity is stained. Water temp is 64-66. It’s very obvious looking at a creek, where the spawning flat is. It needs to be open to sun and as I had pointed out, it is better if it is protected from the wind. Today I threw square bills and chatter baits in a bluegill pattern. I was mostly trying to cover water but I did flip a creature bait for a short while and lost a good one at the boat. I was around enough quality fish to make for a decent tournament sack.
