I have a motorguide 82lb foot control, this weekend while fishing I noticed it was spinning while idleing down the lak.! When I put it in water it would still spin without me pressing micro switch on foot pedestal, it runs wide open when doing this! The constant switch will still work fine and I can control speed butt when I switch it to manual it comes on 100%. But figured out that by pressing down on micro switch while this was happening it will go off and stop spinning like the button is backwards? I know it's not because i haven't messed with it! Is this the micro switch or a board problem? Thanks in advance! Just looking for next step to take!

An $11 micro switch should fix that problem. I had to do it twice to my TE 82.

Sounds like the switch problem. Take the wires off the bottom of the switch and turn the motor to momentary. It shouldn't run. Touch the two leads together and it should run. Touching the leads should represent the microswitch turning on/off.

Sometimes it's just some grit in the area around the switch button. Try blowing it out with an air hose first before replacing it.

buy 2 of those micro switches so you'll have a spare. I keep a ziplock bag in my glove compartment that has items like this that are known to fail at the worst moment.
