I'm thinking about driving from OK late next month for some surf and jetty fishing. Will the spring break crowd be thinned out by then?

It will be toward the end of the craziness. It really depends on when the colleges farther north have their spring break

If you're looking for a fishing adventure, stay the heck away from the beach areas. Port O' Connor, Seadrift, Rockport, Baffin, Port Mansfield are fishing spots, not beach spots.

Will the first of April signal the end of things, or do spring breaks extend past March? I'm interested in surf fishing, but
read the seaweed can really get bad in April.

The weed can be hit or miss. That is a hard one to call. There are a lot of factors that come into play with it.

If you are coming from Ok with hotel and everything you will be spending a nice chunk of change just to fish the beach. Spend a little more and get a guide, you will be so glad you did.

There are a lot of people that come from all over to surf fish. The one thing I can say about it is you NEVER know what you might get IF you are rigged right. There are some huge sharks that are caught every year. When I had time I really enjoyed surf fishing. That being said obviously your chances are better with a guide but I understand not everyone is looking for that.

I will be surf fishing in a few weeks in Port A for 3 out of the 4 mornings I am there until the beach goers get up. Killing an urge and wetting a line while on vacation
