Nice fly for sure! It will definitely catch! Why don't you make the "eyes" from JungleCock straight back to make it centered on the "body"? It seems the eyes would look better to me straight back on the nice looking fly.

Im still new to this style of tying, but I think there are several issues in play with the location of the JC eyes.

The primary reason I used that location is that the JC has been put on the wings for roughly the past 100 years or so. laugh

I think one of the reasons for putting the JC on the wings is durability. The wings are traditionally made with multiple layers of feathers instead of hair. By stacking the inner wing, wing, cheeks, JC, etc. together, you would get a more durable fly.

I also have some mistakes in my fly that are making it look lopsided. The body hackle is too long and I tied it in like a Wooly Bugger body hackle. Basically, the second fly is way too heavily hackled. Shortening the red hackle a little bit and tying it more sparsely, and I think the fly would look more balanced with the JC on the wing.

But to be honest, youre looking at the first two times that Ive ever used JC. Im just happy that the feathers are almost straight. laugh
