There is something in Tonic Water called Quinine, it is used to treat malaria and if you take a bottle of Tonic water with Quinine into a bar or club with blacklights the drink glows in the dark.

Google Quinine, it's a pretty interesting naturally occurring substance they put in Tonic Water.

A buddy of mine was telling me about a prework out stuff called "no xplode" I was thinking about ordering that. These last 2 morning I have been dragging at the gym. The last 2 day's I've been on the oliptical for a hour. Been burning 600ish calories. I add the "arm buster" program on it. What do you think of that product?

9 oz of water per scoop is how I like it.

My boy and I done the skim mil last night after the gym. We mixed skim milk with the Whey after workout powder 2 scoops. I guess it takes a couple after workouts to feel it. I know its not instant. What's your opinion on the "no xplode" pre work out powder.

You got me, but it looks like a lot of caffeine and beta alanine. Does say not for under 18 years old use....I noticed you said your boy.

Alright, our 15 yr old is 245#'s 6 foot 1. He's bigger than me. (I think I'm shrinking) I'll read up on it. This gym stuff is all new to me. But, got to do it and get healthy and better shape. Thanks for the info and knowledge Bass_Bustin!

One of the worst things people do when starting to work out or getting back into working out is overdoing it. It often leads to injury. You stated in your post that you started working out an hour in the morning and an hour after work just last Monday. Way to go but slow down. Protein and Creatine are the only two substances that have been shown to be safe and have actual benefits shown in study after study year after year. Most everything else comes and goes and does not stand the test of time.

^^I'm feeling that I've kinda burnt myself out. The soreness I'm gotten use too. If I'm not feeling it, I didn't do anything. So, I like the morning work outs, (due to less traffic in the gym). In your opinion/advice what would be a good program to do. The last 2 morning I've done 1 each morning burning from 600-675 calories on the olptical with arm blaster. Is there a mix that just has Protien & Creatine in it? And that stuff you just take before you hit the gym?

I see this in the running world...people get fired up then try to do too many miles too fast. Then they hurt themselves and say "Running was too hard on my body!"OR "This concrete is killing my knees!" OR "These shoes aren't right for my running!"

In reality those people found out they are human! Not Super Man!

Slow building is best.

Jamaica, you really should consult a trainer at your gym....or find someone like a sports doctor to see. That's why you see statements like "get evaluated by a doctor before attempting this...."

A few sessions would be good to prevent injury, ask questions about food and supplements.

Yesterday I tried something different, I skipped evening work out. Felt way better this morning for the workout. I think I'll do that for a while and see the results.

He told me my diet is good but... the beer is yeast that's killing you. So I need to fine another way for a drink after workout after the gym and something to sip on the weekends when everyone comes over. He mentioned something about gin and tonic water.

Studies reveal that drinking a glass of red wine has the equivalent affect of a 1 hour workout on your body. I "workout" regularly after learning this fact.

I will say this, since I have worked out my whole life. Make sure to give your body rest days. Also, after a month or two, you need to alter your workouts and exercises. You can tend to get used to doing the same thing over and over.

I call it passive exercise, also known as rest. Your body needs to recover. Time relative to your current fitness level.
Good advice from redskeet100 above.

Maybe the yeast in beer, but definitely the carbs. Switch to Tito's & G2.
