Yes, I have a tournament there, no I don't want to know any fishing information, just need to know how to navigate. If I launch at the Kickapoo ramp and head north under the bridge is it pretty much idle only? Trying to determine if I want to give that a try. I know someone posted pics when lake was low but my understanding is otbis up now. Just want to be safe and not destroy what boat I have.

Some people run some of that but in my opinion it's idle only, being careful to stay off the road beds and underwater bridges. As high as the lake is right now it shouldn't be too bad.

Some people run the powerlines to the main channel. But I just idle in front of the bridge. Just make sure not to run over the old road bed and bridges. And yes its idle only. Its very shallow and stumps everywhere.

Idle, Idle, Idle if you are going from the ramp under the bridge into the creek.

OK, thanks, I'll probably idle under bridge and put the TM down and just start fishing.

just out of curiosity why do you think you have to go to Kickapoo. It's a big lake. When is your tournament? It's not the hot area right now really. Just for your info,in the media Saturday one of the best local Kickapoo teams weighed in 3 little swimmers. Another local Kickapoo stick had one little keeper. It's not an automatic area.

Idle only in Kickapoo. I agree with Neches though. There are big sacks in more accessible areas if you have the time to put in and find them.

Just know you need to go past the first underwater bridge in order to turn up and go under the first bridge section. At least that is how I run it in order to keep from putting my fiberglass on the road bed. Turn just past the first underwater bridge.

It's in three weeks. Just had a few people I know say that is where they have had the most luck. Ive never been on the lake and trying to to narrow it down. I may get to go once before then and thought I would start there and see what happens. I found some area on the map that I like down south that i will fish if things don't go well up north.

I did the same thing my first time out there. Launched at Kickapoo, then trailered across the lake to another ramp to fish main lake.

The Kickapoo boat ramp is the underwater road bed. Come out of the launch and idle down the east side of the underwater road. when you pass the first bridge you will see a road sign on the above water road. When you get even we the sign hook a left and go over the underwater road then idle up to the next bridge parallel with the underwater road or just go under the first bridge. You don't have to do it like that with the water up, but when it gets down that's about the only way over the road. FYI...most guys running into Kickapoo, myself included, run to the first bridge and shut down, so you will be in there way when you idle down a part of that stretch. I wouldn't run by you at an unsafe distance on plane, but there are those that will.

Also, the boat ramp cove is very narrow. If you are putting by yourself there is almost no room in the cove to park your boat and then park your truck, you will hold up traffic for a while if you are alone. Pretty much a 1 boat cove.

I don't think you need to tary in that stretch cause sometimes it's to shallow to come off plane except in the deeper Creek at that bridge. Same as some stretches on LOP.
