Had a chance to fish with Steve who I met several years ago while fishing for Rainbow Trout. I was able to get him on some pretty good Bluegill fishing at one of my spots. We started out at the Blanco State Park where we banged out a double limit of Rainbow Trout. We caught a bunch and kept 10 for the frying pan. We then took a lunch break and then stopped at a Bluegill pond on the way home. We caught a nice bunch of Coppernose Bluegill along with several bass. Kept a bass and several Bluegill for the frying pan to go with the Rainbow Trout. The Trout were caught on a Gold Super Duper lure and Berkley Trout Bait-cheese colored. The Bluegill were all caught on worms with a float technique. The Bluegill were active during this latest warm spell. Steve had some fish cleaning to do. Fishing with a friend and getting a bucket of trout, gills, and bass! It just don't get any better. fish

Great catch Chuck thumb Any green sunfish?

I woke up this morning and went outside; I couldn't believe how warm it was. Today should be a great day to fish. I was out at the golf course last night and the little bass kept attacking my fly line. So I put on a little popper and caught about 30 of those little 8 inch bass, LOL. That's the first good top water bite of the year for bass. The sunfish still aren't active on top water yet though. I saw a few bass beds in one of the ponds I fish as well. Spring is getting close my friend.

Nice variety of fish. Looks like we are back in the patterns of one front after another. Will this effect the fishing.

Side Note: Got about one and a half inches of rain this last system.

Thanks Gitter and AJ for the replies. Gitter: I have been trying to locate fish all winter long. Places where I ususally catch fish during the winter I can not buy a bite. Other places where there are no fish this time of year I am catching a bunch. Go figure! Love looking for em. thumb AJ: It's going to be a GREAT spring, summer, and fall! cheers

Yes sir know what you are saying. This weather has made it where you really have to look for em.

Side Note: Got another inch of rain this last go around. Also heard that the Corp of Engineers is letting a lot of water out of Canyon.
