My father in law passed away recently. He had an extensive collection of rods, reels, lures, etc. that we need to get appraised as soon as feasible. My wife is the executor of the estate so we need an overall number fairly soon so that the inheritance can be doled out evenly.
Does anyone know who can do a fair appraisal around the Dallas, Fort Worth area. Of course we would be willing to pay the fee. Thanks.

I would be surprised if you could find anyone around willing to give a no BS appraisal on rods and reels. What I can tell you from insurance experience that would make it easier for you to do this if this tackle is a collection of recent past buys and not antiques. Antiques will require an appraiser which will be expensive to contact.
After finding "NEW" prices, Deduct 50% and 5% per year since purchase down to about 15%-20%

I'd be willing to help you out , but I live in east Texas. I'm not a professional, but I've been in the fishing industry for over 50 years. If you want me to Id be glad to take a look and help with what I can. George!
