I usually bass fish but was going to bank fish for crappie tomorrow way up river at Proctor. (Jones Crossing for people that know about Proctor.) Went a few years ago and caught about a dozen sand bass but no crappie. Do you think with this warmer winter there will be crappie in the rivers right now.

I don't know anything about Proctor. We caught crappie today from about 18 feet deep to about 30 feet deep. We were in a tournament, and I didn't hear about anyone catching them right on the bank yet.

Were you wearing a jersey? J/K. Guess we will see. I bet we at least catch some sand bass but hoping for some crappie.

Caught 4 keeper crappie, several other small ones, one keeper sand bass & a few small ones. I'm gonna give it a couple weeks & try again.

I haven't caught any crappie in the Jones Crossing area in recent years, but I see little crappie flipping here and there each trip. I've caught quite a few small sandbass on my two trips this year, but only a couple of keepers.

The last time I went about three years ago I caught about a dozen sand bass and no crappie. Maybe this is the year the crappie move in?
