I'm going to spend some gift card money at cabelas and need a new reel. I'll use it mainly for throwing weightless worms and light shakey heads. Looking around $100. I was eyeing either the revo sx (on sale for $119) or a lew's speed spool. Any suggestions?

Double up and get the Curado 70, wonderful reel for lighter lures.

Can't go wrong with a Revo SX. Awesome reel. If you like the Lew's, the MB is an awesome reel as well. Comes in an 8:1 gear ratio too and it's 139. Great deals on both.

I was also thinking about spooling it with some fluorocarbon.

I like Lews, but either one would be a good fit for what you want to do with it. *2nd the motion for Curado, too). Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

The Curado 70 is excellent, can't go wrong with Lew's. I know guys who swear by Abu but a Revo SX I had was pitiful compared to other reels, just my experience.

Of the ones mentioned I'd go with the revo... I've had all the brands you mentioned. Shimano hasn't put out a quality product under in my opinion since the D series for less than 300 dollars. I had a lews and loved it for 8 months... when the bearings went out and I had to call lews and go through replacement process.

recently purchased Inception 13 for 119.99 very smooth, sets easy, resist backlash. inception 13 is rather new product not a ton of info.
