We did not have a lot of time to fish today, so we decided to go over to Luces Bayou. We got over there about 8:30am only to find the parking lot so full, I didn't even bother trying to launch our boat. With the bluebird skies and windy conditions, I guess there was a LOT of people with the same idea as us.

Olhipi fishes Luces a lot and he won't go at all on weekends because it just gets stupid.

My son and I fished it Saturday for the first time. We pulled in to Ponderosa around 0730 and within a minute or so there was a long line to the ramp and was full within a short time. Any chance you are fishing the high school tournament March 4th? I know a lot of people pre fished Houston over the weekend.

What HS tourney is this ( my home lake, just curious) and I stay the heck pout of Luces on the weekends. We may run up in there to hit a few spots AM but it gets beat like prom night tang, everyday.

I spoke to and AQ guy today, they have a team tourney that day too and he told me the HS tourney has 128 registered. Their weigh in at Huffman HS. That should put it at about 150 boats, likely most this lake has ever seen. They could not draw 75 for a big bass tourney 2x last year. Water is dirty from what I see in the river. He thinks 20 to win either tourney.
For those familar, they put all in a tank after weigh in correct? I hear they will release all at Ponderosa, wonder how many floaters will be there Sun morning?

15.8 won AQ, any results on the HS tourney? I talked to a crappie guy and he told me he saw one boat all day sat. He was in the right place, told me he had 18 nice crappie 15+ bag at least on largemouths ( all on minnows) he threw them all back of course, he had a 2.5lber on ice a while back and I told him I did not care for it ( nicely)

It was about the same for the high school, I believe it was 15 plus, forgot the exact number.
