Ok, help me settle a dispute. I have always preferred being on the water early. Fishing by the time the sun has risen up say no later than 45 minutes. My wife always claims it is better later in the morning. Say around 10 or 11 and on. What do you say. Thanks Mike Turner

Let her sleep in and take you new girlfriend
From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

Well, good question. When I night fish, there is a bite that starts about 4:45 and lasts until daylight or just after (when I am looking to go home and go to bed)... most of my fishing trips happen about 9 or 10 am...so I can get on a bite when I get there. In my opinion, the early morning bite is twice as strong as the mid morning bite, most any day....the exception is during the spawn...during this time, when fish see bait, they grab bait, regardless of the time of day.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Fishing docks are best in summer between 0am. And 2 pm . It's all about the shade . More sun is best . Congregates the fish in the shade . Same thing with north south bridges

ADVICE FROM an expert born again Christian fisherman saved by the grace of God: Sun up until 2 hours later is when fish are most actively feeding. This is a general rule as no rule is 100% consistent. Yes, fish will bite throughout any day when the conditions are right and you can find them.
I will only fish when the barometer is between 29.90 and 30.05 because when I fish, I fish for food and some to put in the freezer. I do not like being on the water unless the fish are cooperating. I also watch the solunar tables and try to hit the major feeding periods. I also target the moon phases keying on two days before until two days after each of the Full moon and New moon phases.
You will not see many people posting up info like this because they do not want you on "their" spots.
Stay after them my friend.

Advice from an ole crappie fisherman is I fish days that end in Y. Your're most likely to catch them on these days. The days that end in Y have produced some of my best trips as well as some as my worst trips. But t those are the days I try to fish.
Good luck and tight lines.
