Did you join the French Foreign Legion or something?
Ask him if he has any Grey Poupon.

I was bumped o VP of Technical Sales a month or so ago. My boss is the prez/owner of a $500MM company. He's French Canadian and we talk every week for a staggering 10 minutes.

I've worked for my boss since hiring on October 1.
The most time I've actually interacted with him was during the interview when he basically hired me on the spot. 20 minutes.
I usually don't know where I'll be next week (and sometimes beyond) until Friday afternoon. Next Tuesday I'm off to Richmond VA for the month of March. I'll get my details on Monday.
I like it.

I'm always left stunned by the idiotic decisions made by mine.
For example: one of my supervisors said to me the other day that robberies are on the rise in one particular apt complex and that I need to go in there alone and out of uniform. Yeah how about NO. Guess what happened last night,,, yup lone white guy was shot and car jacked in there.

Boss was born in Tennessee but lives in California, retired navy. Great guy and gets extremely annoyed with the Cali mindset and their lack of work ethic. We actually get along extremely well and work well together. We can both tell each other they're full of hockey don't BS me, and as long as the job gets done he really doesn't care how I do it.
Every company he's purchased, he gives to me to manage. We set up the ground rules and then run with it.

So - would it be called "racist" to suggest maybe the boss would consider sending a representative "of color" to that assignment unarmed and unguarded? Seriously, if I am assigned a service ticket on a machine in a medium to high security area I am required to call our uniformed armed guard service prior to being on site. It's the only way I'd service an island ATM after dark. We have an inside-the-lobby ATM on Guadalupe & 24th that if it's after dark I won't go alone. Downtown Austin. No, we're not allowed to carry for liability reasons.

I completely understand my boss. He is a lying, thieving pile of garbage who can die in a fire.

I used to have to work with some Brits with Lloyd's of London. Condenscending snobs constantly making fun of my accent and Texans in general. But when they came here in Texas for a conference and I won them them over. But one thing for sure- don't they have dentists over there?

Funny I've got a buddy that works with that bunch, he works for a company out of Houston, usually has to go to London at least twice a year. Said the same thing the first time he went over there.

I've got a boss from Australia who comes to US every 4 months to see how the foundations going, and I met a month after I started working and I made it VERY clear that I am going to be asking a LOT of questions due to our language barrier. I didn't think an Aussie accent could be so strong. And yes I ask a LOT of questions because I can hardly understand him over the phone... and in person.
