Hey guys been off the forum a while but got a question for y'all. Have a friend from back home (SA) area and three of his buddies are headed to Toledo spring break to fish. They will be at the lake middle of the week with a small tracker and some kayaks. Where is the best area to camp / have access to decent fishing water for these guys to have some fun. Obviously they will not be able to travel to far on the lake.

*they will be doing the same on Rayburn after if someone has recommendations for that one as well*

Thanks Fellas!

I'd say pick a good creek arm and they can stay in it. You have North Toledo State Park on the San Miguel arm and they have lots to fish there. You have Pirates Cove further down the lake and it has a decent size creek arm. Texas side you have Toledo Bend Bed and Breakfast along with Alpine in the Palo Gaucho arm. Then further south you have 6-mile, Housen and others. Being prior(current?) military the Army has Ft Polk Rec Area on the LA side and they have really nice cabins and stuff that aren't expensive you could look into. I have stayed there before and would go again.

Rayburn- we stayed at Powell Park Campground and it had nice cabins and a good boat launch. Not much of a creek arm there but easy access to main lake. From there if you go about 4 mins west on the road there is a launch right in the 5 fingers area which should give a break from most winds.

I'd suggest they talk a buddy into joining them so they can do it up right. Maybe someone with a 21 foot blue skeeter!

Haha wish I could but they are fishing during the week and I will have to work during spring break. They are hitting Fayette on the way home from those two lakes so may catch them on that one. (if it wasn't so stumpy I'd let them take it but not on those lakes lol)
