How far down should you suspend a crappie light when fishing off a dock? I'll be fishing in about 6 feet of water.

Just under the surface and fish below it. If no shad show up then call it a night
Common carp 26 Goldfish 9.78lb Mirror Koi 14lb Koi 16lb Channel Catfish 26lbs Blue Cat 30lb Bass 9.5lb

Just under the surface and fish below it. If no shad show up then call it a night Give the shad an hour or sp to show up, and fish in the dark shadows around the lights perimeter. If no shad show, call it a night...like the man said....you should notice the plankton showing up after 15-20 minutes of turning the light on.
