After the greast success of our first wahoo trip, we have opened up another one for this year, before the AJ season closes, and hopefully before the wahoo dissipate. This will be another "reverse" 60hr with the big travel times happening at night.

We are going to try leaving on the 20th, but will once again (try) to pick the best weather window in there. Targetting wahoo, aj, tuna, grouper, and various bottom fish, with a bears share of the time focusing on wahoo.

The price is 1kpp and you get to bring a cooler on board with your own food and drinks. We have a grill, microwave, and coffee pot available for everyones use. If interested call Deep Sea Headquarters at 361 749 5597

Save some AJ's for our 48 at the end of May. Good luck between now and then.

Yes you read it right... there is a ton of fuel to consider on top of the other expenses involved. Plus to run these in the spring, when the wahoo stack up out there, i have to shut my boat down for a whole week to catch a window. Thats alot of revenue left on the table for me to offer this opportunity.

Just considering the price of trips and how it compares to inshore fishing. Hiring a bay guide for 2 and half days would be $1250. Its not an apples to apples comparison, but I think it does demonstrate that its not a gouging price. Sadly I cant afford to do either lol. I havent priced the scat cat 56 hour in a few years but I bet its about $900. So its an extra 10% to target wahoo. If I had the time or was old enough my kids were gone from the house paying their own bills, I would do it.

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

Ok, guys. We are 2 weeks away from the anticipated go date for the "New Pelican's" March 60hr trip. If you are waiting on the sidelines, now's the time to get signed up. It looks like it will probably be an extra light load so far. As a reminder:

This trip is scheduled to leave the evening of March 19, but we have blocked pff the whole week for bookings, so we can leave the 20, 21, or 22 to give the best weather possible for a safe, comfortable trip. The main goal is to load up on wahoo, but additionally, other target species are AJ, grouper, tuna, and various bottomfish. All the big travelling time will be during the night, and we will be arriving back at the dock at first light, making the sleep issue that kills on long trips easier, and giving you a full day to process your catch and travel home.

The cost is $1000 per person. We go with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15. You get to bring a cooler with food and drinks and we have a grill, microwave, and cofeepot for everyone's use. We have enough ice and storage to harvest about 4 tons of fish, and last trip brought in close to 3. Contact Deep Sea Headquarters at 361-749-5597 to book.
