I am headed to Texoma this weekend with a few friends. They will be rod and reel fishing but I decided to bring the fly rod. Any recommendations on flies this time of year? I figured something with a little more weight to get the fly down with the water temperature still being pretty chilly. Also, would a slower retrieve be more appropriate this time of year? I'll post updates/pictures throughout the weekend.

First thought is a wooly bugger, maybe size 8 or 10. I always start white unless the water is stain Add a split shot if its not getting deep enough for you. Second thought would be a clouser, white/chartreuse, white/gray, I edited original forgot you were asking for stripers and sandbass Good Luck. Fish on!

Big heavy Cypert scissor tail. Basically a clouser with a split saddle hackle tail. Fished with a teeny 250 sinking line. As I was told fishing on Whitney knock off the trout stripping and give it a good 2' strip. Lol
Opps, it was on Buchanan not Whitney fishing with Bill Adams.
