Went today, fished the large gravel bar where the rapids were. Water still high. Fished until I strung the 25th fish, then went home. Great day. No females yet, and there not up in great numbers yet, but still managed a limit. Will post pix tomorrow when I clean them. Not the main run yet, but we're getting close.

Jon boat. 5 horse motor. Current was still too strong to get passed to the upper rapids, but luckily I didnt need too. Cleaned them this morning. 10 males, 15 females. Eggs are not ready yet, but soon.

How do you think a yak would do out there currently?

Should do fine. Water will be dropping slowly, until then the only harder passage will be trying to get ABOVE the gravel bar. Other than a stronger current, its pretty smooth water all the way up. Just be mindful of the increased flow, you may tire quicker than normal. texas
