This thing is making me nits. I've been over menus until I'm blue in the face trying to get rid of the NMEA2K screens when I scroll through vies. The first looks like a set of gauges, the second a dashboard, and the third is in block format. I want all of them to go away. Will someone please point me in the right direction?

You turn those off in the Views menu, BUT they will come back the next time you start the unit up. A glitch that needs taken care of.

Not sure if this works or not but Make sure you are in Advanced users mode. Go into setup menu and make sure nmea 0183 output is turned off

Using the transducer that came in the box, what should the frequencies be set for in the setup? I assume it's a CHIRP transducer, correct?

If the CHIRP is turned on, I set the frequency to Medium/High combination. This is the same as the 83/200 both wide and narrow sonar bands.

Thanks for the charts. I have the Helix Chirp SI but not the Mega. Are the transducer frequencies going to be the same since that transducers are different?

You won't have CHIRP Imaging or 1200 kHz. The rest will be the same.

Why would I not have CHIRP on a CHIRP unit? Does it require a different transducer?

Re-read my last post slowly. You do not have CHIRP Imaging

You have CHIRP Sonar

The G2N models have CHIRP Sonar and CHIRP Imaging.

"I" stands for Imaging.

You don't have DI either, you have a DI view that is created by blending the two SI pulses. So no you don't have CHIRP DI.
You have CHIRP Sonar---that's it.

The MEGA SI units have real DI from a dedicated DI crystal in the MEGA SI transducer.

Bob, keep us updated on how it all sets up & hopefully it's gonna be a major improvement for you. Im still sittin on the fence trying to decide between 10" or 12" & even considering 15" Solix for console unit. LOL.
