I normally use whatever I've got that's torn up. I mostly use Zoom, so that's what I melt the most. I've heard of problems with mixing plastic (especially floating plastic with non floating plastics) but I haven't had any issues.

I havnt heard that about non floating mixed with floating, only diff is the non floating has salt. I have heard not to remelt Berkley power worms and the zman elastic type baits.

I might be thinking about the zman plastics. I think they are made to float, so that might be where i got my wires crossed. I haven't had a scorching issues that I'm aware of with salt impregnated worms.

I found out when I was beginning using a hot plate before upgrading to nuking them.
I have supplemented some with liquid plastisol (medium and hard) along with experimenting with glitters and gaining some neat resulting experiencing. Using my re-melts in a ministry. What a grand retirement. thumb

ZMan and Strike King are your bad boys...

They don't like to play with the others. It is the 'ELAZTEC' plastic. Everything else it good to go. The melting of Powerbait stinks to high heaven, by the way.

If you buy some plastisol you can control the burn when remelting. It just gives it a better consistency, and negates any salt issues. Though I like my 'senkos' to actual 'sink'.

I enjoyed the video and if I may, what type microwave did you use in regards to wattage?
The one (cheapo) I got from Wally-world is a 700 w but I am sure others are using some considerably higher.
Could be important consideration for some folks new to re-melting.
For example with the 700w I use 2 minutes beginning and 30 sec each time until consistency is right whether open pour or injecting.
Looking at future videos from your production and catching pics. fish

I'll honestly have to check as it is the microwave that came with the apartment. I'll check and get back.

I may pick up the 1000w next time but he ol' 700w is still kicking. I was just suggesting that you might include the wattage as part of your next instructional video. Keep up the production. It is quite an addicting hobby! partyon

I might just suggest not pouring it that way without a glove on the hand that you are holding the mold with. Somewhere on the TFF are pictures of what happens when that hot plastic makes contact with skin.

Otherwise, good work.

That's a good safety tip that I will incorporate into further videos. Thanks for the feedback.
