I'm in the market for two brand new rods and reels. I need a new frog/topwater rod and reel and a Texas rig and reel. Any suggestions? Also not looking to spend a TON of money but I don't want cheap either.

On reels, Lews or 13 Fishing. On rods, I've been really happy with the few I've ordered from Big Bear Rods in South Carolina. You can specify everything you want and as long as you don't opt for titanium guides, you can stay below $200 on the rods. Tackle Warehouse carries them as well.

Frog/large top water rod Falcon Bucoo Cajun Baby
Reel: BPS proqualifiers are on sale n store. I'd get something in 7:1

If they are sold out of pro qualifiers; amazon.com and Walmart.com has the Pfleuger supreme in 7.1:1 for under $85

I'd get two of the same reels (one for frog and one for trig)

Hard to recommend trig rod without knowing what weight you are throwing
The falcon Jason Christie jig/worm rod is 10% off $94 at outdoorproshop.com

Looks like the Falcon Bucoo Cajun baby is discontinued. Darn, love that rod

The falcon Jason Christie pitch and skip has similar specs. Also 10% off President's Sale at outdoorproshop.com

Can't go wrong with Lews reels, for a rod you just need to get one that feels good, a 7'3" or 7'6" HM would be good.
Should be around $200.00 to $250.00 for a nice rod and Lews reel, shop around for a good deal.

If it was easy, everyone would do it

what ever you decide, keep in mind that Bass Pro is having its annual rod and reel trade in.

I've been having good luck with the Lews $99 reel believe LFS model, Academy or Cabelas carry them. Also the Lews rods the white $99 ones Cabelas had a good assortment of them 2wks ago first time I seen 7ft med. action so picked up 3 of them, they fish great. Just my 2cents spend it wisely.
