Made the last Rainbow Trout stocking of the season at the Blanco State Park on the Blanco River. Ran into Rudy who I met this past December during the trout stockings on the Guadalupe River. We shared the bank and caught us both a limit of fish. Fish were caught on Gold Super Duper Lours with a slow retrieve. Berkley Trout Bait both in the cheese and orange color were getting good results. We lost a few at the bank trying to get em in. The weather was on the cold side and it was overcast. Not many anglers showed up for the stocking. I left Rudy at the river who was going to try to help his wife get her limit! I made it to the local Dairy Queen where I had a fantastic Belt Buster Combo before heading back home. Catching some Rainbow Trout with some AWESOME ANGLERS ! It just don't get any better.

Nice fish and report as always Chuck. Fished the Blanco last week and limited. Park employees told me not much trout fishing going on with only a few people showing up each day. When will the sunfish bite start picking up on the Blanco?

Thanks Curtis for the reply. I have caught Trout on the Blanco all the way into Mid March. I have heard they have caught trout in late April. As for the Sunfish bite. I would think the bite would start picking up by Mid March!

Gonna try to fish the Blanco more this year. Especially with the Kayak.

The Blanco State Park and the Blanco River are both Very Kayak friendly!

Yes Sir Gitter nothing beats the DQ. As for the sunfish bite late March it should be picking up.
