I have Helix 10 unit up front and love to use my 360 imaging for all the stuff you cant see above the water. Allows me to be more efficient with my casting. Really looks good when your locked in with shallow water anchors. Otherwise I use a split 2D and DI or map and DI. Especially when fishing deeper.Hope that helps.

I run sonar/downscan split screen on the bow 90% of the time. The downscan really gives a detail view of the structure that sonar doesn't show a lot of times. Typically I use sonar to ID fish and downscan to see the structure.Downscan and sidescan also will show you fish if you know what to look for. Sonar will separate fish from structure and downscan will show sharper more detailed views of structure and bottom. Hope this helps. Learning how to utilize all of the tools you have in your electronics takes time and sidescan, downscan, structure scan, panoptix and chirp all have a place in the arsenal and allow us to see and find fish that we typically wouldn't.

Never SI, but I do use DI and traditional sonar regularly, for reasons several have already mentioned. Also, in some super shallow situations (<2-3 ft when the transducer is <2 ft from the bottom) it seems like my DI does a better job of staying with the bottom and giving me a depth when my traditional sonar is confused and loses track of the bottom.

I have a transom mount 360. I select it all the time on the trolling motor. I moved my 1199 up front and 998 to the console. I would use SI all the time with the 998 up front and did a zig-zag pattern so I could look ahead when fishing down a bank.

For you guys that use Si/DI, do you have a Minn Kota with us2? If so, wonton just mount your transducer onto the trolling motor?

2D/SI/Charts up front with an HDI transducer; everything at the console. I originally ordered a Fortrex with US2, but changed it to one without it once I knew I was getting the HDI skimmer.

I run it 100% of the time, I can't say that I catch more fish because of it. Can't say I catch fish anyways.

All the time when I'm running the banks and 2 mph is plenty on the Mega to get a good pic. Doesn't take a second or two to switch back and forth.
