2015 I was given a boat trailer, no tag, no title, and was surprised to get it home without a problem. I stripped it down, replaced bearings, tires, wiring, and hitch. At this point I decided that having just a yak trailer was a waste, so I welded in some channel to square the bed up, so I could have a small utility/Kayak trailer. I added new tires and rims, and a tongue jack. Then I added on 8 inch side rails so I could add cross bars (2x4) to hold the yak. I had finished it last spring but when moving it out of the back yard I tore the meniscus in my left knee that ended up requiring surgery. Finally got pics and thought I would share. If I did this right the top pic is of the original, then finished, then trailer with yak, then tilt and tire. Did I mention I repainted it. Have room for 2 kayaks or I and add an A-Frame and should be able to carry 5, and if need be, plywood, posts or gravel.
