After work I decided to stop by my normal summer time spot and see if the sunfish or the bass were in the shallows spawning yet.

I was throwing a little minnow pattern (#6 clouser) on my 5wt sink tip, and managed these two to hand in about thirty minutes. They were sitting on hard bottom in ~3' of water. As these are the first two fish I've caught since ... like thanksgiving, I was pretty happy with the result. The larger fish is ~13".





I'm not sure if they're up spawning, or prespawning, or pre-pre-spawning, but they were certainly biting.

Gonna see if I can't find some white bass in the local creeks tomorrow.
