I'm still trying to digest all of the nomenclature regarding equipment and technology being that I'm fairly new to fishing so if you guys have any suggestions for spinning reels I would be much obliged. Was looking at the Nasci & Cabela's Salt Stiker T200 and Arachnid (on sale for $135 down from $170).
Thanks!!!

Probably the only flash you see when fishing.
If you can't find em wind em.

The size 30 and 40 spinning reals are excellent for catching anything and everything freshwater, until you get into really big catfish. The size is often mixed into the model of the reel I prefer to use 20# Power Pro braid instead of mono. No circular memory, no stretch forcing you to do exaggerated hooksets and a great all around line.
For the rod, I prefer a 7 foot medium heavy strength. The 7 foot length gives you plenty of casting distance and handles everything from crappie to stripers. A medium strength is just fine too and gives you a little more flex and fight with a larger fish on. You can buy a combo cheap, often less than $80 and it will work great for years.
