From what I read and see on the lake, it takes 2-2-1/2 years to grow to keeper size (18"min).

I heard only 10 percentage only will survive. So from 60k it will be like 6k. Hopefully they all will survive

They opened the gates up about 10 days ago to 94 cfs. I was told that there was white bass and hybrids caught the first day but it was poor after that. They said the hybrids were really skinny, indicating they never made it out of the Yegua. I tried one time last week and just caught gar. They opened the dam to 187 cfs a couple days ago. I haven't been over to check on it though.

I went out to Welsh park this morning. The largemouth were along the shoreline chasing shad as normal. I caught several largemouth and bluegill this morning.

I saw alot of white bass surfacing a little bit further out then I could cast from the bank but they looked like the small ones I've been catching in front of the dam.

I went out in front of the dam last night. The small white bass were surfacing, as usual. I caught them on almost every cast for about an hour and a half. Not a single keeper though.

What you guys think about this?

I suspect it is white bass. Hybrid bass and Wiper (White Bass / Striper) are the same thing. They don't reproduce but I'm not sure they don't try to go through the motions. I know I would still try

I haven't been out to lake but once over the last couple weeks. I fished Yegua Creek Park one evening. I caught a couple bass off a top water froggy fly. The white bass started surfacing right before dark, as normal.

I went and checked the creeks this weekend. I started at Irwin bridge. I assumed the water would be low and fairly clear. It was low, but very dirty.

I checked on Nails but when I go down into the creek there was a big water moccasin in my path so I left. I checked on Cedar. The duck weed is starting to grow on top of the water there, as well as, in Nails.

We need a good heavy rain to flush all the creeks.

I'm waiting until late September or after the next good rain event to yak up the Yegua. The only other option in this heat is if the COE releases lots of water into the spillway and we hit it early in the morning at first light.

I went out to the lake for about 45 minutes this morning to see if I could catch some bass on a popper dropper. There was hardly any shad near the shore. I didn't catch anything but a couple small bluegill. I didn't see any surfacing activity either.
