Finally found it.. had to pull out my lake map...then it was much easier...so what's up with staying in view of your truck...roving bands of crackheads or worse?...guess I could leave a dog in the back of the truck, to snap at anyone within 15 yards.

The dog would be a good idea. All those areas are sketchy.

Well Horace, we moved in August. It took a while to get settled and then get my boat up here. Yes, I've hit Lewisville (ramp is 5min from the house) and had some success. Daylight savings killed my afternoon/evening opportunities, so I've had limited trips. I'm sure things will pick up as the days get longer. Also, I'm fishing CAT Tourney's again. So some of my opportunities have been used on other lakes.
When summer rolls around, you and I need to go fish! thumb

We have a spot up in the chambers side. Any good crappie spots up there? We just sack up the catfish in the chambers creek channel but would like to find a crappie place up there close by.

Maybe the spawn will be a little early this year, so you can get in on some of it...

I lived south of the lake for years, so I always focused on the Richland arm.
As for the Chambers arm, I've caught fish in the timber around Hickey Island, in and around Pin Oak Creek, and occasionally the bridge. I just haven't spent much time north of the bridge. Don't doubt there are some good spots up there though.

The "shallowness" you mentioned is why I haven't ventured north of that bridge. There are just too many good places for me on the Richland arm.
My suggestion....Since you have a place there, drop some brush piles. Find an area where the depth drops off from say 15' down to 20-25' and create a good size pile with 3-4 pieces. I can almost guarantee you will draw in crappie in a no time.

On the south side of the island I have have caught lots of Crappie ..... and sand bass.

Some of those spots are fairly deep close to the bank, you will just have to search for them.
