Use brown sugar instead of white sugar for a richer pie.

The final Osgood pie is this recipe, but with the following modifications.

Instead of 1 1/2 c pecans, substitute 3/4 c pecans and 3/4 cup raisins.
Add 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
And 1 teaspoon white vinegar.

If you pick up pecans-fine.
If you buy pecans and other ingredients, you can buy a pecan pie cheaper than you can make one.

I've got four pounds of pecans in the freezer already peeled. We get them from an older lady for $6 a pound smile

For those that use corn syrup, try honey as half
Half dark Kayro and half Honey is awesome
Use REAL Salted BUTTER and Mexican vanilla for that old school, real deal appeal.
Really good pecan pie is hard to find, that candy sweet garbage
just doesnt cut it

I protest the use of chocolate in a pecan pie. I'm a pecan pie purist! grin

i agree, but sometimes we put caramel in with it, just to change things up a little.
