Power Pro

Try the Original Power Pro braid. This braid is tried and trued and has been around for a long time. It's easy to manage and cast and it's strong.

This ^. Get the original Power Pro 30lb test. Very thin, very easy to cast, very strong. Great starter braid.

I don't have a particular brand I would recommend but if you are putting it on a baitcast reel I would go up to 50lb. Small diameter braid will dig into itself on the spool and stop a cast dead in its tracks. Can just be a giant pain. Small braid can also give you fits with wind knots.

And that rod will go by by right into the lake

Since your new to braid, make sure you leave about a 1/4" tag line when you tie your knots.

Since you are new to braid, you will first want to tie on a short length of monofilament line to the reel (I usually do about 5-6 wraps around the spool) then tie on your braid with a double uni knot. If you tie the braid directly to the spool it can slip on you and you don't want that.

If you get hung up, don't pull on the line with your bare hands like you do with mono. Carry a stick or something to wrap the braid around to pull on. Braid will cut you to the bone if you pull on it with wet bare hands.

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago! Luckily I was flipping, so I was able to catch the rod tip as it flipped out of my hand!

Another sulution to this is to wrap electrical tape around the spool first. then the braid.

Power pro for beginners, semi-pros or pros. Great sensitivity, very low abrasive resistance.
