My son and I went last Saturday and it was a tough day on Whitney for us in the strong SW wind. We usually catch striper on Whitney till our arms are sore...
It looked to be a tough day for several of the Whitney striper guides as well.
We landed 14 striper after fishing all day! 0-2 fish at each stop. We caught 2 up river, 5 near the mouth of the river, 5 at midlake, and 2 on the south end. We marked most of the striper up in the river and on the north end, but the water was off color with about 6" visibility. We fished plastics, slabs, and live bream with no bites on the bream.
We found loads of whitebass in protected coves in 21-30 FOW. We could've caught them all day, but were after striper!

Interested in going to Whitney soon. I fish Belton a lot and wanting a change of scenery. How safe is this lake?
