Four of us just returned fro 4 days of fishing at El Palmar Lodge and it was awesome. We landed 1,200 fish, with the biggest of 7.75 and loads of 3-5 pound fish. Ran out of lizards and senkos,so will take lots more on next trip. I'd post pics, but don't know how!

Wow! Can't wait to hear the stories at the next meeting. That sounds like something I need to get in on next year...

See you Monday. At $1250 for 5 nights lodging and 4 days fishing it is a super deal! Probably do Jan or Feb 2018.

Skip,
Sounds like a great trip. 75 fish per person per day. Solid for sure.

Glad you guys had a good trip. Here is one of many ways that you can post your pics on TFF or any other forum. I use photobucket at http://photobucket.com/ You can create a free account and just follow the simple instructions for saving and uploading images. Huites is a stunningly beautiful lake; especially in the Northwest portion where the Creel to Los Mochis train crosses the lake. I was fortunate to have been able to fish Huites before it was officially opened in 1998 with many other trips since then and I would put this lake on my bucket list to fish at least one time. It appears from these recent pics that you might suggest to Humberto that some forage fish might be an good investment? A few more interesting facts about Huites: 1. It has the largest watershed area of any lake in Mexico. 2. Water is released from Huites into Lake Hidalgo and Lake Dominguez which are downstream and then released through one of the world's most intricate canal systems for irrigating thousands of acres of fertile farm land. 3. For a real Mexican Adventure from Texas; one can drive pulling their own boat to the lake crossing at Presidio, Texas on to Creel, Mexico then to Choix and the lake, or one of the other routes on this map. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Presidio,+Texas/Choix,+Sinaloa,+Mexico/@27.4170683, -107.9987231,1405396m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x86ee7b0e757531e5:0xa725987f3bbd374b!2m2!1d-104.3721465!2d29.5607383!1m5!1m1! 1s0x86b92756310d1cc1:0x78f4510f604504fb!2m2!1d-108.3245451!2d26.7087657!3e0

Last year we went in early January and the lake was full, this trip it was down a good 25 feet. Irrigation is in full swing and you can see a depth change every morning,by wet shorelines. As for forage, the lake is loaded with tilapia and netting is very limited. 6-7 years ago netting was very intrusive. Problem with Mexico is they don't seem to have the equivalent of our Parks and Wildlife programs. This lake would be incredible if Florida strain were introduced. We were the only 2 boats on the lake last year and this year!
