is the last pic one of those mekong giant cats? No sir that is a Choa Phraya or dog eater catfish as it's sometimes called, which is named after the river that runs right through Bangkok. Tomorrow we fish for Mekongs.

Also it's not as expensive as you think. Check into it or message me about it.

That looks like an incredible trip!
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

Striped catfish. Very similar to Mekong but doesn't get as big and has a faint strip along the lateral line. They are more predatory than a Mekong. Giant Mekong. Named after the river that runs through Thailand. This one was 100 pounds, no where near as big as they get but after fighting them this is as big as I care to tackle. My wives biggest Mekong. Black eared catfish caught in the wild Chao Phraya river. They only get about 25 pounds so this 6 pounder is respectable. Not exactly sure what kind of barb this is. This one is a red tail tinfoil barb.

Archer fish. These spit water at bugs that are on plants and trees overhanging the river and knock them into the water to eat.
