That definitely beats a good day at work! We go to Houston a lot in the summer , I want to get some fishing in on my next trip down there. I hear the catfish are pretty good down near Galveston .

I noticed that the bugs showed up this weekend. They ran me off the creek!

I had a couple of newbies friends that I let pot licked me at one of the location that is well known to everyone. They couldn't catch a single fish after spot locking behind my boat. After a few discussion on lures and lures presentations they limited out two man limits pretty quick. I kept seeing double hook ups. I'm sure it'll be one trip they will remember forever.

I m the pot licker that Bruce waved over. He is absolutely right as we did not catch any fish anchored within spitting distance from his boat. He literally handed his rod and reel to fish with. We were catching big whites one after another with his method. I even hooked on to a hybrid that smoked some line but got off near the boat. We were hauling in fish after fish when another boat stopped and started trolling close enough that I could have casted onto his boat. He caught nothing as we continued to hauled in our limit and left. Bruce is an absolute fish whisperer! If you're new to this and want to catch fish, you gotta hook up with Bruce. His method works!!!

It was such a memorable day yesterday I went fishing with Bruce yesterday. It made me felt I was the greatest fisherman in the World since I got fish almost every cast. I am sure we caught more than 200 because I caught many many triples and I was quietly released I did not tell him. We went many different spots and amazingly every spot we stopped were full of fishes. It is for sure this fishing trip is not forgettable for my whole life. There was a boat came to us when we were fishing in one of spots, I recognized that was the one we launched at same time because it equipped with same fish finder as Bruce's. They told us they could not see any fish with his fish finder,(they don't know how to use that fish finder) however they still could not catch any fish when they fished same spot with us (they did not use the right lure). Finally,They got their limit in less than one hour after Bruce throw his lures to them and lend them his rod.(what wonderful man he is) I strongly believe if you book a trip with Bruce's tutoring service, he wil show you not only how to locate fishes with fish finder and tell you what fishes like to take as well. It is for sure you would have your fishing trip more enjoyable after you learn from him. My personal fishing experience was I luckily got white bass limit twice in 12 years when I fished with other guys because they could not locate the fishes with their fish finder, all they could tell you was how deep and what temperature was.

Bruce, Are you sure your transducer is reading temperature properly? Other posts are saying Sommerville temp just hit 60.....about like every other lake in the area
Maybe your transducer is just barely in the water and reading a very shallow surface temp that might warm much more rapidly?
Not sure but 70 degree water temp doesn't sound right and since you said it was 65 when you arrived and warmed to 71 a lake CAN NOT warm that fast 2 degrees is about the max and that is only surface temp

The sun really was beating down on the surface close to 4pm and it reads what it reads (I hope). I got a commercial thermometer on the boat. Next time I'll stick it in the water and compare. I doubt that it reads wrong thou. Compared it once a few month ago and it's right on the dot. But I'll do it again and compare this weekend if weather permits. Thanks for the question thou. Got me thinking now. I really need to know the water temp. Very important factor this time of year. Fish reacts when water temp changes.

70 degrees? That is not a power plant lake correct? About an hour north not a single lake has broken 60 as of yesterday - none of them saw 61+ on lop Sunday on the north end...
