Curious to see how many folks use a swivel in the main line on weightless flukes.

Yes and a small (18in) leader of fluro. No twists helps it sink a little and easier to work.

I use the clip Swivel right on the nose directly to the hook on the Mag. Flukes.

The smaller flukes get the short leader from the standard swivel.

I use a swivel with a relatively short leader. It reduces line twist and acts as a stopper if I use a second fluke for a donkey rig.

I sometimes will use a barrel swivel 18-20" from the bait when fishing totally weightless. It's about the perfect weight to get down better and still flutter the bait instead of nose diving from t-rig or floating on top with no weight.

Nope, no swivel for me. When I first started throwing them I used a 5/0 offset Gama hook on 15 lb Big Game or McCoys. Now I normally use 14-15 lb fluorocarbon line and the same hook in shallow applications. Seems the combo of the heavier 5/0 hook and fluoro line provide sufficient weight for a nice slow sinking action. Line twist isn't a big issue so long as the bait is aligned straight on the hook. Works great for me and definitely one of my go-to baits in early spring but do catch fish on it most of the year.

Like this,..I also use a small clip for the bait, makes changing from fluke to worm easier.

YEP, I use a 1/0 swivel (BIG) and a short leader and it swims the bait forward as it falls. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

WHOOPS, forgot to say when you throw a double fluke rig, it is a must to have the 2 swivels in there, works well when fish are actively feeding, too.

If fishing deeper than 8 foot always use a swivel

I like to slip a drop shot weight on a 4/0 hook with a super fluke. That gives the fluke a little more weight and it will make it wiggle as it is falling.

Pretty much my same history and application with the bait, never been an issue and don't have an extra knot to think about.

No swivel I use line size and hook size for rate of fall. I have always liked the least amount of knott between my reel and bait. I don't worry about line twist with baitcaster and correctly hook dinger
