Good points! I don't really think of the pin as a "shear pin" probably because in a lot of years of hitting wood and rock while operating my Fortrex I've personally never broke the pin. Anyone know the plan for removing this T H Prop Nut if/when your pin actually breaks? How do you keep the shaft from spinning to unscrew the nut?

I have one and it does help a lot. To be completely honest there is one issue that could arise with it. If your shaft pin breaks I don't know how you will get it off. I haven't had it happen to me except one time before I got the nut and it was my fault. Just letting you know that it's a possibility Good point, I've busted a pin on a minn kota once, figured out why theres a slot for a screwdriver at the end of the spindle. Guessing you would have to take the motor apart or either destroy your prop to get the nut off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D35Wam0ntxgIt just screws on and off by hand, no tools required. Actually easier than without it.

Turn the trolling motor on and hold on to the nut while it turns Prop turns anti-clockwise, that would just tighten it.

Thanks for the video. Unless you have a drill on board if you break tha pin you are not getting that prop off while on the water, huh?
