I have one. It got rid of an annoying hum my trolling motor (36V 109 MotorGuide) had at certain speeds.

Absolutely worth every penny. I will not own a trolling motor without it.

acts, they make one for motor guide and one for minnkota. Not only that but there is one for under 80lb thrust and one for over 80. Thanks you everyone, exactly what i was wanting to hear!

Why is it worth every penny?

Main thing they do is make your trolling motor way quieter, supposedly will lengthen the life of it too as its more balanced than the plastic nut.

I have one and it does help a lot. To be completely honest there is one issue that could arise with it. If your shaft pin breaks I don't know how you will get it off. I haven't had it happen to me except one time before I got the nut and it was my fault. Just letting you know that it's a possibility

Most trolling motors need to be tuned. That is why they are noisy. Basically, remove the blade and turn them on with the constant switch. Lossen the two long retaining bolts that keep the motor assembled. Slowly twist the motor housing as its running counterclockwise and clockwise until it is at its fastest/quietest...then retighten the two bolts. You'd be surprised house a tiny amount of reclocking the housing will help. If a heavy weighted prop nut helps a bunch, you have a real issue with the motor. It either has worn bearings or a bent shaft or an out of balance prop.
But, that each their own.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

No! I ordered one from T&H and it did not fit, the shaft was to short so it would not thread on. Restocking fees are EXPENSIVE!

It helps. I think it's overpriced. But, it did noticeably reduce sound and vibration on my Fortrex.

As a tournament angler I like it for another reason more than the intended use. If I get wrapped up in a trotline, fishing line, excessive grass, etc, I can remove that nut by hand pretty quickly and easily to remove the trash. No tools are required. For this reason alone I would run one!

Guessing you would have to take the motor apart or either destroy your prop to get the nut off.
