Is it more of a big fish lake or a good lake for numbers of eater sized blue cats? We have a cabin in black rock park next month and will be staying out there a couple days with the wife and kids so just wanted to get an idea of what to bring out there? Any advice would be helpful thanks fellas.
God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28

I love Buchanan and have seen many blues caught over 10 pounds including some monsters. I have caught flatheads over 30 pounds and I don't fish there near as often as I would like. Just net some shad and start in 20 fow near the upper end of the lake. You may even want to check out the river. I am willing to bet you could do just fine though down by the dam and Black Rock...sure there are folks on here that can be more specific as I don't get out there very often anymore. You should get a room at Paradise Point...that dock is loaded with crappie and that is where I have caught a bunch of kitties. Hiline is right down the road too.
