SWEET!! Honestly although I'm settling for just the regular Helix twelve right now but if I ever get another boat with a jack plate on. I'm gonna put a 15" Solix on it. Bigger is better. Once you go Big you will never want to go back small. Bring us back some reviews please!! I'm still waiting and anticipating to go play with my friend Mega once he fix all his boat issues.

Word on the street is that there can be a problem with the Mega units when running both si and di at same time.
They go really dark. Supposed to be a software update though that fixes it so just make sure before using your unit you have downloaded all the latest updates.

Man with all the sold out unit on Universal Mania I would think a lot of the good and the bad problems reports about them units should be pouring in by now. So far problem I encounter is one side of side scan is extremely dark. Im guessing due to the longer length of the transducer that the motor is causing an intereference with one side of the side scan unless you've got a jack plate to move your motor out further. Some one on here suggested that I tilt the motor every time I start scanning for fish but I don't think so. At least not for me. It can get annoying after a while.

When in combo views with si, turn "off" si enhance sharpness, this will take care of the one side getting darker. The actually range of the mega imaging seems to be between 50-75. In perfect conditions 125' to each side maybe attainable but it is gonna vary from lake to lake and the lake conditions

Thanks Diesel. Will try it next time when I get back on my friend boat with his mega unit. I'll let you know if that works.

I have the mega 9 si. The si enhance turned on will cause the di shot to take over the right side of the si screen when in combo views. In full screen si u can turn enhance to low med high with no problems.

Bruce

Universal Mania is down to $1555 on the Helix 12 Chirp SI with 61 of them in stock. Man, that's starting to look tempting as an upgrade to my 1199. Maybe it's time to sell. LOL

I have the HELIX 10 SI KVD on my boat and I love it so far. It is way easier to use than my Lowrance that's for sure.

Thanks!! Getting me a 12 for sure, but honestly if I had a jack plate on my tin can to accommodate the bigger transducer I would of go all the way with a Solix 15" BIG is really better when it comes to side scan.
