How many years on avg y'all think they last? Mine sits out side year round covered and I put a few buckets where the rain water might hold to make sure it runs off. Customs cover pretty pricey so like to have idea to plan a replacement.

The factory cover on my Tracker Avalanche is same age as the boat 2003 and still good. Some fading but no tears and all the straps are still good with nothing broken. A new one for my boat costs over $500.
Hope mine lasts another 10 years.

From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

The longest I've had lasted 10 years, fairly expensive one. The next 2 I had from Bass Pro, around $200 "ish" both lasted about 3 years before dry rot happened. Whatever the warranty is, is about how long they last.

That's what I get give or take a month or two....It's cheaper than what a covered boat storage costs, so replacing once a year at about $60 bucks isn't too bad.

Just one more cast!

I got 4 years out of a 5 year cover, called the company to claim it, they said they only prorated after 2 years. They offered me a 10 year cover for $75 more than the prorated cost of a new 5 yr cover.($300 off normal cost) The new one I got has a engine cover built in so thats nice.

Mine lasted about 5 years and started tearing at seams. I took it to an auto upholstery shop and had it resewed. Looks good and still good a year later.

I believe that how long they last,(3-8 yrs.), is directly related to how much open sunlight it's exposed to. The first thing to weaken are the stitches, followed by tight/pressure spots (trolling motor prop/head, windshields, etc.). I have a 17' carport, and a 21' boat, the front section always get's wore thru, first. I find it helps greatly to put a cheap tarp over it, for shade, from UV rays. Most custom tarps start at $500., factory are more like $800.+ Also, if you tow it on much, be sure everything is tightly secured, to reduce wind popping/stretching.
