With this weather the fish are moved up for sure. It is still early though so you have to fish a lot slower to get them to bite. We did catch a lot of small males but we caught a lot of really nice sandies today. Was a good mix bag too small bass ,bluegill, crappie, jasper goo in the mix. We did well in a hole below a riffle but real action started when we found a logjam with a cut bank. The big fish were stacked in there I brought another rod today than I had a few days ago broke two really good fish off before I realized it was a trout leader. I thought it looked a little thin should have cut more off before adding invisix. I cut it back a bit to heavier part of the taper and added more invisix problem solved. Although not as active as the other day but could still strip pretty fast. All in all an amazing day with tons of fish didn't hit the century mark but didn't miss it by much.

J-moe needed you to thin out the small males bolt yea it was a splendid day to be this early. Didn't keep count at all but we had several solid stretches of fish every cast. Unlike the other day when the sun got off the water they shut down. But the time is here for sure.

Ha Ha, I only catch big fish of any species. When I feel the small ones bite I shake them loose instead of setting the hook

i probably catch almost as many sandbass every year as anyone Ron. Yet you could not pay me enough to eat one though lol. I do love to catch them however! I know some really enjoy eating them but I bet they are glad I don't start keeping them food. I would rather eat the cull largemouth out of the private lakes I manage over just about anything in fresh water. That is other than walleye and a big blue gill bass followed by crappie. I just educate sandbass so maybe the bait chunckers don't haul them out. Some of the spots I fish I wouldn't keep them to give away because I would have to drag them several miles in some rivers.
