Anybody have any suggestions on how to get rid of this heel pain/foot pain. I have tried for weeks/months on all the stretches you see on you tube. Went to specialist and she gave me cortisone shots in both heels. Told me to go buy these expensive shoes. Have done all this and nothing. MY FEET HURT

Yeah they make special shoes for it. but just heard about it.

Your injury is from overuse of muscles and not enough stretching. I'm sure you know that though. Prevention seems like the only thing you can do to help prevent it....once you got it...time is the only cure. So I hear. Mine was minimal last spring...it was from running too much, too soon into beginning the sport.

I think I got it fishing all day in flip flops or being barefooted. I just can't seem to shake this stuff.

Oh yeah that will do it.

I will tell you what I have been reading and feeling. Shoe technology has gone so far to create a comfort hugging shoes that "support" your foot is all directions. Thus you end up with naturally weak foot muscles and tone. The human man was "invented" to run around barefoot and chase down animals. We took comfort a bit too far. Now we have the weakest feet in thousands of years.

Toes are cramped. Feet are at wrong angles (boots with heals, high drop shoes). Support all around the foot.

Get in some sandals without any support and your feet went "WAHOOO" and stretched out too far...thus pulling a muscles in the arch. Hook sets put you up on your toes too!

Oofas flip flops gets rid of mine in about 2 weeks. I can't walk barefoot at all or it comes back with a vengeance. I make sure I get new running shoes every three months.

my Dr. gave me some anti-inflammatory meds and told me to keep taking them for three months straight. It took a while for pain to go away, but I have not had problems for a couple years now. He also recommended New Balance shoes as they have the most support.

Not what you want. You support a foot it will never develop the muscles to hold itself up without the "support". You get weak feet. It's a new theory after all these high end support shoes are hurting people more. Everyone thought more support the better, but far from the truth.

Think how weak our body was if we had a support to keep us upright? Your core would be weak.

If you don't support the injury it will not heal. Kind of like placing a cast or splint on a broken bone. I can see your point if it is not relating to an injury and you plan on walking often barefoot.

Oh yeah, once it's injured you better protect it. Mine flared up over a year ago when I tried to run to much too early in on my new hobby. I walked on the edge of my foot for a month..

The above was more about why it happens more often than we think it should....weak feet due to supported shoes. Most people don't relate their feet to being muscular.

I have the same issue. I just switched to a different running shoe and after about two weeks I got a horrible case of this in my right foot. I have got the inserts for plantar faciitis and while they have helped a little, I still have nights were I can barely put any pressure on that foot. I know they say to rest, but that is hard to do when your mid-section is increasing.....
